More backups when needed the mostMore backups when needed the most

We are changing the backup and backup retention schedule. The change will mean that we will have more frequent backups available for the most recent week at any given time, while having a few less backups in storage beyond the age of one week.

For details, please refer to Hosting and installation

Why is this better?
We have done extensive analysis on the usage of our backups. When a backup is needed, it is typically the more recent data required i.e. backups made from production within hours or days. The new backup schedule for production instances will have more recent points of recovery within the last week in production than before.

When will this be done?
The changes will take effect from the 4th of November, regardless of what version of Pure you are running.

Do I need to do anything?
There is nothing you need to do. Any questions or comments can be made to Pure Support as a support case through the support portal.

Best,
The Pure Team
