Update - January 16th - 12.25CET

We are happy to inform you, that a fix will be available with 5.28.3-1 from Wednesday January 17th and will be deployed on standard Elsevier-hosted instances during the usual service window of Wednesday & Thursday this week.

Now, if this job has been used (or still is) in your Pure instance, you will be met with one of these three messages on first login after an upgrade to 5.28.3-1. Please read the message that you are presented with, and act as indicated by the underlined sections below:

Re-run of 'Scopus publication import/update' job required
To restore authors that potentially could have been removed from the Research Outputs by the Scopus publication import/update job, a re-run of the job is required. The latest Pure update has configured the job to process all Research Outputs for the next run. Please be aware this run of the job can take longer than usual depending on your number of Research Output. Please schedule the job for a manual run and start it.
- if you get this message, you need to schedule the job for a manual run and start it

Full run of 'Scopus publication import/update' job
To restore authors that potentially could have been removed from the Research Outputs by the Scopus publication import/update job, a full run is required. The latest Pure update has configured the job to process all Research Outputs for the first run after the update. Please be aware this run of the job can take longer than usual depending on your number of Research Output.
- if you get this message, you need not do anything, as the system will run the job.

Original post: January 11th 2024

If you have run the 'Scopus publication import/update' job after upgrading to version 5.28.0 or later, there is a possibility that it may have made incorrect modifications to certain Research Outputs. Specifically, some authors could have been unintentionally removed from the Research Outputs.

We are actively working on a solution to address this issue. And will release a fix version as soon as possible. Our goal is to prevent such behavior in future instances and to restore the authors for the affected Research Outputs. This will happen through the first run of the job after the upgrade.

This article will be updated accordingly. Check back later.

Best,
The Pure Team
