Module Description

Module 1:

Introduction to search navigation

As the amount of content in Pure grows, mastering the search functionality becomes increasingly important. And while the search and find need may mostly be limited to only lookup of single pieces of content for inspection or further quality assurance, it is valuable to know what differences can be expected when searching in Pure.

You can start a search from one of these two search bars:

  1. Global search bar
  2. Content search bar

Each search bar offers different ways of submitting search queries, and refining search results. You will be advised which search bar that may suit your need the best depending on the purpose.

And if you are not getting exactly what you need, this course also offers some options to consider for better or more accurate search results.

Module 2:

Search strategies

Knowing the difference between the two search bars makes it easier to select the most appropriate search strategy. A simple search using one or only a few search terms can often be effective. However, if you cannot find what you are looking for, Pure offers additional options:

  • Advanced search
  • Field search

In this lesson, we will cover these search options in more detail.

Module 3:

Troubleshooting and configurations

We've all experienced situations where we couldn't find what we were looking for, despite being confident that it exists in Pure. Or search results gives us unexpected results.

This lesson will list some considerations to keep in mind when you encounter such issues, aside from rephrasing your search query or checking for misspellings.

Reporting

This course is designed for graduates of the Pure Foundations master class who are ready to explore advanced functionality in Pure.

Building on the foundational knowledge, this course dives deeper into the platform’s more complex features, helping administrators enhance their skills and make the most of Pure’s capabilities.

After completing this course you will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of setting up a report
  • Present data dynamically
  • Analyze report data at a granular level
  • Use the modules link on the left menu to see all of the modules.

This course consist of 2 modules:

Module Description

Module 1:

Reporting roles and data tables

Reports help institutions answer important questions about their organization. All content types in Pure are available to be analyzed and viewed alongside their relationship with other content types.

After completing this module, you will be able to:

  • Understand roles in reporting
  • Build data tables using columns
  • Present data dynamically
  • Analyze report data at a granular level

Module 2:

Data stories, sharing, exporting, and importing workspaces and specialized reporting

Converting your data tables into visual stories, or data stories, is a great way to highlight data and build upon the information gathered within the data table. This functionality can be used to view different values in several ways, and, as a result, provide you with stories about your data you otherwise might not have seen with just your data table.

The ability to share reports is also valuable and allows users to share their findings and report structures with others (with applicable reporting user rights). In this manner, reporting allows you to export report definitions (structures), import them or share workspaces.

After completing this module, you will understand how to:

  • Build a data table to create visuals called data stories
  • Save, share, export and create snapshots of your reports
  • Use certain specialized driver content for advanced reporting
