How Can We Help?
Setup Pure Test serverSetup Pure Test server
This guide will explain how to set up a test server for Pure.
This is generally recommended so you can test new versions before upgrading your production system.
Install Test server
First set up a new server for installing Pure.
As it is a test server, you can give it less CPU's and memory than your production system, but it should have the same amount of disk space if you are planning to copy your files from production.
It is recommended to set up the server in the same way as the production server, so keep paths etc. the same, as this makes it much easier to copy data.
When the server is ready follow the normal installation guides to install Pure, but if you want to copy data from your production system, then stop the installation right after deploying Pure, as the data should be copied before starting Tomcat.
Tomcat configuration
If you have copied data from your production system, it is recommended to use some of the Tomcat command-line parameters to overwrite the settings in the database.
This way you will not have to change the settings every time you copy new data from production to test.
