Over the past several months, we have seen several incidents with the Pure Portal, including outages and slower update times. We are taking these incidents very seriously and they are always treated as a priority.

Many of you are aware that the Pure Portal is in maintenance mode: we have limited the introduction of enhancements or new features while we build the New Pure Portal. However, we’re still making essential updates to ensure the current system continues to function reliably, including:

• Security updates
• Updates to the underlying search functionality
• Monitoring and managing the growing volume of LLM bots

Over the past 12 months, the traffic from bots has increased significantly and we continue to work to ensure that the Pure Portal is able to effectively manage the challenges this brings. We have increased Cloudflare protection and are monitoring the site loads. We are also working to implement the Text and Data Mining (TDM) directives that the customers would be able to enable on the Pure Portal as per their preference. This is done to provide customers with greater control over whether their data can be used by the LLMs (as per the EU 2019 Directive for Copyright in the Digital Single Market (DSM Directive)).

This is an evolving challenge, and we are committed to ensuring the Pure Portal remains stable and effective as we continue to develop our approach in managing this effectively together with the market.
