How Can We Help?
Ethical reviewEthical review
An Ethical review in Pure is a record that describes a formal review undertaken to evaluate whether a research proposal adheres to ethical standards. For example, human subject research or animal testing. The record contains information about people, documents and Applications associated with the review, and maintains information about whether the review is pending, or has been approved or declined. Multiple Applications can be associated with one Ethical review.
An approved Ethical review may be a condition to be met before a grant application is awarded. For example, when research on human subjects is planned. Once an Ethical review is approved or rejected (either by internal or external review committees) the status of the Ethical review is updated. Ethical reviews can have the status:
- Pending
- Approved
- Declined
Users can create an ethical review directly from the application record. This transfers the title and other key information from the application record to the newly created ethical review record. Users can add additional details. Users will upload one or more documents with details for the review committee or similar. At first the ethical review record must have the reply set to Pending until a decision has been made by the committee. Once this has been done the reply can be set to Approved or Declined. This reply status can be reported on in Pure, using the Reporting Module.
Workflow
Ethical reviews can be configured to have 3-step workflow in Administrator > Ethical reviews > Workflow step configuration.
External ERM integration
Pure integrates with Infonetica for this. Read more in Integration with Infonetica: Ethical Review Management
