How Can We Help?

One of the main ways to bring content into Pure is via XML. This can be done in two ways, both of which use XML files in the same format. The first is using Bulk Import functionality, which is meant for data migration, where a one-off load of data into Pure is needed. The second is using Synchronisation Jobs, which read an XML file on a defined basis (often once a day). The job will then check for records in the file which don't exist in Pure, and then create them, as well as perform updates on any records where the XML has changed since the last time the job was run. This process is used for integrations, where data exists in an external system and needs to be regular updated in Pure, for example bring Person data from an HR system.
Below you will see all of the different content types for which XML import is an option. Each of these pages provides examples and a detailed breakdown of each element available in the XML. A number of elements are reused across different content types, which have been collated into the Commons section. This page should only be used as a reference from other content types as it has little meaning in and of itself.
