History and Comments: Missing After an UpgradeHistory and Comments: Missing After an Upgrade

What

When copy data from production to staging or vice versa, the history and comments on content is missing; how is this resolved?

How

The history and comments section is populated with data from the audit log, and in Pure, most of the audit log is stored in files in the file system. Therefore, if you only make a database copy from production to a staging/ dev installation, with no files, then you will miss the audit data.

You will want to make sure the client has copied one of the below directories for the history and comments:

  • Linux: /data/pure_data/perm and /data/pure_data/audit
  • Windows: d:\pack\pure_data\perm and d:\pack\pure_data\audit

We also document this information on our Client Space under Copy data from Production (see "file section").
