UK: REF

In this version of Pure, we have introduced the option to bulk-delete Research Groups.

Navigate to Unit of Assessment → List view. Select the Unit of Assessment from which you wish to delete Research Groups, and click on the bulk functionality icon. You can delete one or more Research Group(s) at a time.

Note that when Research Groups are deleted from the Unit of Assessment, they are also removed from related content.

Research England proposed some changes to the model based on feedback from the sector on the impact of COVID-19. As a result, we have added two new fields:

• Audit evidence - file. Additional files can be added to the REF2 in the "Information to sub panel" section.
• Affected output statement. If COVID-19 has caused major changes to the final form of the output, this can be documented in this statement field. The field can capture up to 100 words.

We have introduced filters in lists for these new fields. Both fields are also available for reporting

Updated ability to attribute two authors on double-weighted outputs

Until this release, it was possible to attribute 2 authors to double-weighted outputs only if they were attributed to a Unit of Assessments in main panel D.
It is now possible to attribute 2 authors to double-weighted outputs regardless of which Unit of Assessment the REF1s belong to: the REF1s can be linked to Unit of Assessment in main panel A, B, C or D.

Update to the "Date of Birth override value" field

We have introduced a minor update to the "Date of birth override" field in the REF1 editor.

The "Date of Birth override value" field is now placed next to "Person Date of Birth" field synchronized from the Person editor. This way you can quickly see if any details are missing or need to be updated.

REF2021 StaffSynchronization (I) job creates too many REF1b's

It has come to our attention that the 'REF2021 StaffSynchronization (I)' job has been a little too eager in creating REF1bs. Currently, the job creates REF1bs for Persons with all Organization Affiliation end dates before the REF2021 start date (2014/01/01). As a result, they have no Organization Affiliations ending after the REF2021 start date.

We have updated the job so that it only create REF1bs for Persons where their Organization Affiliation ends between the REF2021 start date and the REF2020 Census end date.

Also, a new filter called 'Eligible employment period(s)' has been added to REF1 filters to locate the incorrectly created REF1bs.
