Please follow the general Upgrading Pure documentation as well as the 5.3.0 (4.22.0) specific instructions below.

Specific upgrade notes for the 5.3.0 (4.22.0) release

Changes to publications state

Publication status are now standardised to the following:
In preparation
Submitted
Accepted/In press (the two old statuses Accepted and In press are merged into this)
E-pub ahead of print
Published
Unpublished

If you have created other types of publication status, these will be migrated to Published. If this is not what you want, you should not upgrade, and contact pure-support@elsevier.com stating what types you have and what type they should be mapped to.

Internet Explorer 8 no longer supported

As of this version of Pure, Internet Explorer 8 will no longer be supported. IE8 users will be met with a warning about this in the interface as noted in End of support announcements for Pure page.
