Have you noticed that from version 5.23.2 you can report on template level (in report module it is generically called "parent type")

The feature goes across all content types and can be used as value, as filter and as a split. 

There are many use cases for this, here are some examples

• Value - you can add a column with the template (parent type) name + a column with the type name (see screenshot 1)
• Filter - you can filter on template (parent type) - thereby locate all Activities/Research Outputs/Applications etc of a certain template type (see screenshot 2)
• Split - when selecting number of Activities/Research Outputs/Applications etc, you can split the number by "Parent type" (see screenshot 3)
