Introduction to APC
An article processing charge (APC), also known as a publication fee, is a fee which is sometimes charged to authors to make a work available Open Access.
Information related to the payment can be captured in Pure, in the Research Output editor, in the section 'Article Processing Charge (APC)'.
When APC paid is set to "Yes", it is possible to provide information on the amount paid and currency.
Note: The currency of "APC amount" is controlled by currency setting of your Pure installation in Administrator>System settings>System currency and country. The default setting is: Not set.
Enable APC
By default, the Article Processing Charge (APC) is not enabled in the Research Output editor. To enable the setting, navigate to Administrator>Open Access>Configuration>Article processing charge. Change the setting to "On".
Access to APC

The section "Article processing charge" is not available for personal users, but only for users with additional roles:
- Editor of Research Output
- Validator of Research Output
- Administrator of Research Output
- Administrator
Reporting
When "Article Processing charge (APC)" has been enabled - it is possible to report on values provided in the editor.
Portal
The data entered in "Article Processing Charge (APC)" is not available on the Pure Portal.
