How Can We Help?
Create an Institutional CV templateCreate an Institutional CV template
Concept
An institutional template allows an administrator to create a CV template that is automatically prefilled with each user’s information. The template is built using data tables chosen by the administrator, where filters can be applied—for example, limiting content to the current academic year or including only specific Research outputs such as journal articles.
Once the data is defined, widgets are added to design the CV’s layout and presentation. Widgets let the administrator decide how information is displayed, whether in tables, graphs, or other formats.
Creating an effective template requires some familiarity with Pure and an understanding of where the relevant data originates.

Getting started
To create a new institutional template, go to Administrator > Curricula Vitae > Curriculum Vitae Types.
Select Create new template
In order to make sure the template will bring in the data as expected, the first step is to pick a Person. It is recommended to pick a Person with data that fits into the purpose of the template.
The person can be replaced from this section in the template, in case you need another one with different data. The person is only used to display data when creating the template, and will not be used elsewhere.

Creating the template
The template builder consists of two tabs, Data tables, and Template.

The Template, is where the actual CV template is constructed, and Data tables, is where the data is sourced from. When starting a new template, Pure offers a default template that serves as an example and can quite easily be updated and changed. The template already have some widgets, these can be deleted if they are not needed, and more can be added depending on the use case for the CV template.
Adding new widgets in CV template
Go to the Template tab.
A new widget can be added anywhere where a small grey dot is shown

When the mouse hovers, the dot becomes a plus.

Clicking that will give these options:

For in-depth description of these types, please visit Visualization types
A widget is defined by a visualization type, which must be associated with a Data table that contains the content type. Thereby, the fields defined for the content type will be populated in the selected visualization type.
If the values and/or content types are not available, more can be added by updating the data tables, or adding new data tables.
Adding content types for the CV template
The CV is build from a default template that contains a number of predefined Data tables. If you want the CV template to contain more content types, you can add another data table.
The default tables all have a standard filter to only show what have been created in the current academic year. This can be removed, or changed if another period is desired.

Adding a Data table
- Click on the Data tables tab
- Press Add data table
- As the CV always will have a Person to populate from, you need to select Person when adding a new Data table
- Press + to add a relation.
This is a relation to the content type that will be used in the CV. - Pick the values to be used in the CV.
This will show data for the content type selected, for example Title, Type, Year etc. - Add any filters if needed.
May be useful if the CV for example should only contain content within a defined year range, or selected types of Research outputs. -
Rename the Data table
Strongly recommended to keep the current Data table recognizable from other Data tables.
See the recording below for this process (Without filter selection):
Adding title, description and logo
In the top of the CV template builder, you can add details as Title, description and upload an institutional logo:

This is how it could look once the details are filled in:

Saving the template
Once the template is complete, and the details (Title, description and logo) have been added, it can be saved.
After saving, make sure you enable it for use from the Curriculum Vitae Templates overview page.
It is then ready to be used by the users.
See Create an Institutional CV for how to use the teamplate.
