Pure Core: Administration
Storage: Disabling of DSpace and EPrints potentially deleting files
In this release, we have addressed a critical issue related to the disabling of DSpace and EPrints connections that could lead to unintended file deletions.
Key Fixes and Improvements:
- Bug Fix: Resolved an issue where files could be inadvertently deleted from external repositories (DSpace and EPrints) when the connection to these repositories was paused. This issue arose when a research output was deleted in Pure, and the associated connection to the external repository was paused. The deletion of files is expected behavior only when the connection is active.
- User Interface Update: We have enhanced the user interface to clearly communicate the intended use of the repository connection pause feature. It is important to note that pausing a repository connection should only be done in specific scenarios and not for extended periods, as it could lead to undesirable outcomes, including the failure to move associated files to the relevant storage.
- Customer Outreach: We will be reaching out to all customers currently experiencing a paused connection to provide guidance and support regarding best practices.
Important
Users are encouraged to review their connection statuses and avoid prolonged pauses to ensure the integrity of their data and associated files.
Trusted users
When searching for a trusted user to support submission processes in Pure, locked users are now included in the search results. When selecting a locked user as a trusted user, after the next execution of the Person maintenance job, the user will be unlocked. Once trusted user status is revoked, the same job will lock the user after its next execution.
Pure API
Courses
This release introduces enhanced capabilities for the Pure API by adding full support for the existing content type 'Courses'. The full API endpoint for the 'Courses' content type has been implemented, allowing users to interact with course-related data seamlessly.
Important Notes:
- Access Definition: To utilize the new Courses endpoints, ensure that courses are included in your access definition. This step is vital for making the endpoints selectable by the API key.
- Design Consistency: The Courses endpoints adhere to the same design principles established for other content-related endpoints, ensuring a consistent user experience across the API.
Documentation: For detailed information on the Pure API, please refer to the official documentation available at:
- API Documentation official guides or your local version: (<your server url>/ws/api/documentation/index.html)
- Interactive API Documentation: (<your server url>/ws/api/rapidoc.html)
Future Enhancements: To stay informed about remaining content types and upcoming features, please refer to the Pure API roadmap. We encourage users to participate in the idea exchange by voting on linked tickets to help prioritize future endpoint developments.
REF2029
Personal review overview
This release introduces an overview for personal users on the reviews they have for REF2029. The way of creating reviews has also been streamlined, such that it is now easier to propose research outputs for Review. The reviews are grouped by status, such that the researchers can see where their output reviews are at any given time. Similarly, persons that are doing reviews can see a list of reviews outstanding, in progress, and completed, as well as any reviews that might be overdue. Clicking any of the numbers shows a detailed list of the reviews.
