Pure Core: Integrations
Support for New Publication Types in ORCID
ORCID has introduced several new publication types to better support research in the Arts & Humanities. Concurrently, some publication types have been deprecated, and in certain cases, new alternatives have been suggested.
In response to these changes, we have updated our import and export processes for publication types to align with ORCID's latest requirements. With regard to export, we have adjusted the default mapping document to point to the new types in ORCID and no longer point to deprecated types.
Important note
If you have adjusted the default mapping document to point to any of the deprecated types, these have not been updated automatically, and you will need to make manual adjustments.

New Press/Media endpoint added to Pure API
With this release we have added support for Press/Media endpoint in the Pure API. This enhancement allows for the management of Press/Media content types thought the following CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations:
- Create: Add new Press/Media entries
- Read: Retrieve existing Press/Media information
- Update: Modify existing Press/Media entries
- Delete: Remove Press/Media entries as needed
Documentation: For detailed information on the Pure API, please refer to the official documentation available at:
- API Documentation official guides or your local version: (<your server url>/ws/api/documentation/index.html)
- Interactive API Documentation: (<your server url>/ws/api/rapidoc.html)
Future Enhancements: To stay informed about remaining content types and upcoming features, please refer to the Pure API roadmap. We encourage users to participate in the idea exchange by voting on linked tickets to help prioritize future endpoint developments.
Pure Handle.Net - Plug-in received security updates
A version 3.0.4 of the Pure Handle.Net plugin has been released, due to CVE's in older versions. It is highly recommended to update, if you are using the plug-in. The only functionality change in the plugin is that it will now use the logging framework that comes with the Handle.Net server.
Find the newest version on the Handle.Net page.
Award Management Module
Review Content Type
In the 5.32.2. release we have made a few updates to the review content type to update the user interface and to ensure that review editors cannot make changes to questions beyond the ‘send to reviewers’ stage.
Change classification based questions to use a drop-down select rather than multi-select.
Previously, when making use of the classification question type in reviews, the reviewer was presented with all selectable options with clickable radio buttons. This limited the utility of the classification option for larger classification schemes, and therefore we have updated the interface for reviewers to a drop-down selection. The selection still permits the option for multi-select and does not change the core functionality.
Limit ability to edit review questions post ‘send to reviewers’ stage
We have updated the interface so that editors of reviews (any content type) are now unable to edit any of the questions in the editor once the review has progressed beyond the ‘send to reviewers’ stage. This limits any risk of the review responses and the related questions getting out of sync.
Contract Content Type
As part of ongoing development and in response to customer feedback, we have implemented the following updates to the contract type
Funder details from award/application records include as part of contracting parties
When creating contract records directly from the application or award record via the ‘save and created contract’ option, external funder(s) are now included in the transfer of data to the contract type as part of the ‘contracting parties’ section. This option is available in the selectable options in the popup window when creating the contact record and can be excluded or deleted from the contract record if required.
Placement of the workflow options on contracts
In line with updates made as part of the new Pure editor interface following feedback/customer review, the workflow option on contracts has been moved from its current location at the top of the right hand menu, to the footer of the contract form, immediately adjacent to the save button.
Reporting module
Updated UI for value selection for data stories
We have updated the UI for creating widgets in our data stories to make it easier to select the values needed. When there are multiple data tables in the workspace, the UI now clearly shows which data table is selected when adding measures and dimensions for the widgets. To switch to another data table as the source for the widgets, simply click on the drop-down list and choose the appropriate data table.
We have also introduced a new option to add 'count of' for each content type that are in the data tables, if these were not already added. The count is necessary to create meaningful visualizations; there's no longer a need to go back to the data table and manually add the count. This can now be done directly from the data story.
Reporting on fingerprints and concepts
For customers who have fingerprinting enabled, these can now be utilized in the reporting module. We've introduced the capability to report on fingerprints and concepts. With the concepts feature, it's possible to use them as a driver, thereby identifying the most frequently used concepts across various content types.

We have also added relations to fingerprints on all content that can be fingerprinted and provided filters for enhanced customization options.
