Merge Duplicates in the QABO SequenceMerge Duplicates in the QABO Sequence

What

In the QABO Publication Import and Cleanup cron job (Administrator > Jobs > Cron Job Scheduling), in the job sequence there is a child job called ‘Delete duplicate publications (DOI/PubMed).’

How

Pure compares title, source, visibility, source ID and DOI. If there is a match the job will then merge the two records into one.

Example scenarios:

  • First version of a match can be: title, source, visibility, source ID and DOI are all the same.
    • Match example: Record 1 has source = Scopus and the source ID 12345 - record 2 has source = Scopus and source ID = 12345
  • Second version of a match can be: title and DOI are the same. The source on one record is removed, then the match is based on the secondary source = QABO.
    • Match example: Record 1 has source = Scopus and the source ID 12345 - record 2 has secondary source and ID = QABO and ID = 12345
