How Can We Help?
Changing text in 'Text resources' hasn't workedChanging text in 'Text resources' hasn't worked
What
You are trying to change a text field name in Pure. You have tried changing it in text resources (Administrator > Messages and text resources > Text resources), but it doesn't seem to have worked.
Why
It may be that you need to change the text in a classification scheme instead.
In Pure, we have both text resources and classifications; in order to create classifications, we need to set up the texts used in the classifications as text resources. Once the classification has been created, however, it no longer uses the text resource, and the text now needs to be altered in the classification editor.
In this case, you should go to Master data > Classification schemes and search for your text to find the correct classification to alter.
For example, imagine you are trying to change the field name “Layman's Description” for Projects.
You can find the text in Text resources, but changing it here didn't change anything in your Pure or Portal:
Instead, you need to go to Master data > Classification schemes and search for “layman”, to find the correct classification scheme:
Click on the classification scheme, and then click edit next to the text you need to change:
Remember to save after making your changes.
But how do I know whether to edit in Text resources or Classification schemes?
Usually, editing in Text resources is the best place to start for most standard field names.
Unfortunately, there is no sure way of telling whether a text is a classification or a text resource, but if your changes in Text resources do not work in the editor, there is a good chance that it's a classification you need to alter.
