How Many GB Storage Space is Pure UsingHow Many GB Storage Space is Pure Using
If you're wondering about the current size of your Pure data, there are ways to check how much storage space you are currently using. This includes all repository content, such as full-text documents attached to publications, activities, and more. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to see how many gigabytes your Pure data is occupying.
You can't see how much space Pure is using from inside Pure itself - you'll need server access to get the accurate numbers. Also, you’ll need to check both the application server and the database server.
In Pure, files are stored in the file system, but all metadata and job logs are stored in the database. To make things a bit more complicated, audit logs are stored partly in the database and partly in zip files on the file system. Only the most recent 100,000 audit entries are kept in the database, with the older ones stored in zip files. So, to get the full picture of how much space Pure is using, you'll need to add both these numbers together.
On the Pure server, the data folder can be found in the Administrator under System settings > Core configuration > Server data dir. This is the folder with subdirectories for storage and other data, which is what Pure typically uses.

In some cases, storage may be placed on other drives or network shares, but in this example, everything is stored below this folder. So, if you check the size of all the files inside the /data folder on the Pure server, you'll get an idea of how much space is used by files, indexes, audit logs, and so on.
To determine the total size, you'll also need the DBAs to tell you how much space the database is occupying, which includes the metadata and job logs.
If you're only interested in the size of the attached files, you should look at the folder /data/perm/local on the Pure application server. You can find this path in the Administrator > Storage > File storage configuration.
