If you want to stop using a specific Research Output type or subtype in Pure, please be aware that the default types and subtypes cannot be deleted. It is however possible to disable them.

Potential implications of disabling a default Research Output (sub)type
IMPORTANT: If you decide to disable a default type or subtype it is important to know that your Pure users may experience problems when importing certain records from an online source.
If you have disabled a type/subtype used for mapping when importing from an online source the import will fail, and it cannot be imported unless you enable the type again.
An import that fails due to a disabled type will throw this message to the user:
No compatible content-type was found that supports the fields from the import model. This could be because the needed template type is currently disabled. (Type: ArticleImportModel(sourceId=xxxxxxxxxxx, source=Scopus, link=<null>))
Click OK, and then the process just stops here, you cannot import this record.
How to disable a default Research Output (sub)type
You can only disable a default (sub)type if no records are using the type. If in use, you will have to move (bulk change template) these records first.
Go to Editor section > Research Outputs > filter on the type or subtype in question > Select all and follow the bulk change template process.
Now go to the Administrator section > Research Output > Types (toggle off) or click edit if you are to disable one of the subtypes > Edit and toggle off and update. Once done, you will see this message in a yellow box in top of page:
Settings were changed. The settings will take effect on next restart of this Pure instance. The changes are annotated with yellow badges below. Pure will need a restart for the changes to take effect.
