How Can We Help?
Show period on Research output author organisation affiliationShow period on Research output author organisation affiliation
What
A Person can have multiple affiliation relations to the same organisational unit with both current and former relations, for example due to a job contract being renewed yearly. This will result in a current and a number of former relations.
This information is prominent in the Person profile where you can see the period for your organisational affiliations.
Also, when creating or importing Research outputs the author relations will show on the output, but if you edit the relation you may see that both current and former relations to that organisation are listed.
In the example below "Foreign policy and diplomacy" are present two times: a current in top and a former in bottom.
This may look confusing, but is due to the way the editor window shows the relations. In reality there's only one relation to the organisational unit, as also is displayed in the greyed out background.
How
- This can be controlled with the "Enable affiliation period on organisation relation" under Administrator > System settings > Person > "Enable affiliation period on organisation relations".
- When ON, Pure will display the organisation relations with time periods on persons based on their affiliation period as the example above.
- When OFF the multiple relations to the same organisational unit are collapsed into one and you will see the same thing as in the greyed out background here:
Note, this setting also toggles off dates on the Person editor and will make so that you cannot see the dates of your affiliations any longer.
