Utilizing Department ID (DPTID) in PureUtilizing Department ID (DPTID) in Pure
What
The DPTID, or Department ID, is an ID used to identify a specific department. For example, the below DPTID, 103898097, is specifically for University of Sussex.
<organisation>University of Sussex</organisation> <affiliation-id afid="60017317" dptid="103898097"/>
This ID can can be used in the import source configurations to enhance the search results for persons.
How
The DPTID is found on content imported from Scopus and can be used to enhance the results of the automated search for persons when you use the the field "Extra parameters to search string for automated import of publication candidates" under Administrator > Research Output > Import Sources > Scopus configurations.
Adding the DPTID to the above configuration will allow you to configure the import to look at content within specific organisational units, i.e. adding dptid(109598060) will find "Department of Energy Technology" at Aalborg University.
Note: the DPTID may not be present at all records, so this may only be used as part of search query.
In Pure, The DPTID can be found on content imported from Scopus in the Editor window under the Display > System Info tab. Here you will be able to see this ID in the XML/ raw data from Scopus (as pictured below).
