PARTICULAR ITEMS TO NOTE WITH THIS RELEASE
Pure Portal 5.11.0 issue
As has been communicated on our Pure Announcement mailing list and on our Pure Client Space, an issue has been identified for Pure Portal 5.11.0 In short, the issue may cause banner and logo to disappear. You can read more about the issue at our Pure Client space here.
- If you have received the 5.11 installation file please do not install, but ask for 5.11.1 instead
- If you have already installed 5.11.0 on own environment, please contact us, so we may investigate and fix the issue. After this, you may proceed with 5.11.1 when you are ready for this.
- If you have not yet been on any version of 5.11, there is no need for concern. We will make sure that you move to 5.11.1 or above for your next upgrade
ORCID Integration
In Pure 5.11.1 the ORCID integration was updated from using the HTTP protocol to HTTPS. Unfortunately, in some scenarios, this has led to issues when updating works in ORCID as ORCID's validation does not support HTTPS.
This issue has been resolved in this 5.11.2 Pure release. If you have enabled integration with ORCID, we advise to not install the 5.11.1 Pure release, and instead install 5.11.2. If you have to install 5.11.1 (or have already done so), please contact the Pure Support Team.
Content validation
You are generally encouraged to check all content in the re-validation workflow step prior to upgrade as changes to the underlying datamodel may not be reflected in the re-validation overview screen (see example)
Further, you are encouraged to check if all content can validate prior to an upgrade of Pure. This check is done by running the Check content and files job and resolving any data validation issues that are flagged by the job

Note that in upcoming releases, we will be moving many of the REF2021 settings and jobs to a new REF2021 configuration area, available directly in the Administrator navigation.
