1. Country Specific Features

1.1. UK: REF 2021

1.1.1. Reporting on authors proposing comments

With this release we've updated the ways to report on authors reason for proposing. Previously it was only possible to get this information from the person, but with this release we've added the possibility to get the authors reason for proposing via the REF2 as well.

We've attached two examples of reporting on the authors reason for proposing, one from the REF1s point of view (REF1 overview of proposals.json), and one from the REF2 (REF2 by proposing author with reason.json) These are ready made reports that can be imported into the new reporting module using the import functionality

This is in response to this improvement PURESUPPORT-60057 - Reporting on Submitter's Reason for Proposing RELEASED

1.1.2. Bulk copy of proposer comments to additional information

With this release we have added a new bulk operation that enables administrators to bulk copy what is in authors reason for proposal into additional information, and if the authors have proposed the outputs as a double weighted output and given a reason for this, this will be copied to 'Request for double weighting reason'.

This is in response to this improvement PURESUPPORT-51999 - REF2 - Information to sub-panel RELEASED

When selecting which outputs to alter, some additional options are being presented. What should happen if there is information in the Additional information already.

The options are:

  1. Skip
  2. Override
  3. Append

1.1.3. Name of REF1

In this release we've updated the logic for resolving the names for staff to be in line with the REF guidelines.

If the person have entered a default publishing name then this is used for the name of the REF1, Pure will fallback to the default name if the default publishing name isn't specified

This is in response to this improvement PURESUPPORT-60339 - Name or publishing name for Ref1's? RELEASED

1.1.4. Validation rules on 'Data to be submitted' tab

With this release we've updated the validation rules for REF1 and REF2, which can be seen on the 'Data to be submitted' tab in the editors for these two types.

The guidance that we've used for this is found here

2. Integrations

2.1. Masterlist

2.1.1. Masterlist Translated Title

It is now possible to specify an expert's title in non-English language. The new column named "Title_translated" is required in the masterlist spreadsheet, but the value is optional.

2.2. Data Monitor

2.2.1. Data Monitor search query

Data Monitor includes both article (eg. ScienceDirect, arxiv) and non-article-based repositories (eg. zenodo, mendeley data). The article-based repositories are included because of supplementary material associated to the article. When looking at the data we realized that most of the non-article content in this type of repository was in fact tables or figures related to articles, which is not relevant for a dataset import source.
