See the End of Support Announcements for Pure page for all end of support announcements.
PARTICULAR ITEMS TO NOTE WITH THIS RELEASE
Oracle 21c issues
Please be aware that we experience unexpected behavior on Oracle 21c with the 5.23.0 release, customers using this version of Oracle should wait for a fixed version of Pure. Customers using the long term support version, 19c, can safely upgrade to 5.23.0.
Upgrade to Java 11 and Tomcat 9
The 5.23.0 release will require Java 11 and Tomcat 9 in order to work correctly, please make sure to schedule time for these upgrades along the normal Pure upgrade process.
Upgrade to 5.20.3 / 5.21.0 required prior to upgrade to 5.23.0
In order to install the 5.23.0 release, you must first upgrade to either 5.20.3 or 5.21.0.
The upgrade to 5.23.0 will fail if either 5.20.3 or 5.21.0 was not already installed.
We have had to introduce this requirement to ensure the cleanup of deprecated modules is complete.
For self-hosted clients, please make sure you read the following release notes:
Release notes - Pure 5.23.0 (4.42.0)#Importcandidatemodelredesign
We strongly recommend that you do not attempt to skip any more than three major releases when upgrading as to do so increases the risk of migration errors.
Content validation
You are generally encouraged to check all content in the re-validation workflow step prior to upgrade, as changes to the underlying data model may not be reflected in the re-validation overview screen (see example)
You are also encouraged to check if all content can validate prior to an upgrade of Pure. This check is done by running the Check content and files job and resolving any data validation issues that are flagged by the job
Pure Portals
Backwards compatibility for Pure Portals
As previously communicated, we provide support for only the three most recent major releases of the Pure Portal. This means that as of the launch of Pure 5.22.0, versions 5.19.0 and earlier will not be officially supported by the Pure team.
If you continue to run an earlier version, new features and bug-fixes will not be available. We are also unable to make any commitment as to the performance and stability of your Portal. We therefore strongly recommend you regularly upgrade Pure to ensure Pure Portal compatibility.
NOTE: This issue is only relevant for customers who have the Pure Portal AND are responsible for managing their own upgrades.
Web services
Web services
With Pure 5.23.0, the 5.19 API web service endpoint will be removed. If you are currently using the 5.19 endpoint, you will need to update your queries to use one of the supported web service endpoints. These are:
- 5.20 API
- 5.21 API
- 5.22 API
- newly introduced 5.23 API
You can find more information about the web service delivery module in the Pure 5.9.0 release notes.
Integrations
Masterlist - Contract type
With Pure 5.23.1, the Masterlist has been expanded to support contract type. Make sure that you download a new template or Masterlist after the upgrade so your spreadsheet contains the new column.
Alternatively you can add it manually on the Stafforganisationsrelations sheet.
