Country-specific functionality

1. UK : REF2020 Module

With regards to REF OA Compliance monitoring, we have fixed the issue that was resulting in Access dates being generated for Closed DOIs. The logic now correctly takes the Public access to file state of DOIs into account when deriving the 'earliest access date'. Additionally, Author accepted manuscripts are being considered as expected. The logic employed is as follows:

When deriving the 'earliest access date', the DOI is only be included in the logic if:

  • Document version = Author accepted manuscript OR Publisher PDF
  • Public access to file = Open OR Embargoed

And the access date to be returned for the DOI is the earliest of the 'ePub ahead of print' or 'Published' dates, if Open, or the embargo end date, if Embargoed.

When determining the 'earliest access date' for the output, the logic looks to all access dates and returns the earliest. So, if the DOI access date is after the attached document, the access date of the document becomes the 'earliest access date'.

Upon upgrade you should run the REF2020 : Generate OA Compliance Status for existing content job
