CERIF XML mappingCERIF XML mapping

The below mappings is used when content from Pure is exposed via your OAI-PMH endpoint via the CERIF XML format.
The format is based on the Guidelines for CRIS Managers 1.2.0, please follow the link for a detailed documentation, the schema definitions and example files.

Please be aware that the behaviour of this endpoint needs to be enabled and can be modified by the OAI-PMH settings of your Pure installation available under: Administration >Web services > OAI configuration This can have an impact on what content is available over this endpoint.
You can find the individual sets on your Pure server under:

  • Person set:
    https://your-pure-server/ws/oai?verb=ListRecords&metadataPrefix=oai_cerif_openaire&set=openaire_cris_persons

Additional information can be found on the 5.14.0 release notes page.

Below you will find a field mapping and a type mapping. The type mapping explains how the types in Pure, e.g. research output types are mapped to the publication types available in CERIF XML and field mapping.
The field mapping shows how individual fields are mapped from Pure to CERIF XML.

From Pure version 5.28.0 funder information is available on the Research Output and DataSet content types, and therefore this information will be added in Funding objects related by the OriginatesFrom attribute for the sets openaire_cris_products and openaire_cris_publications as listed above. Funder information also remains available in the set openaire_cris_funding (based on awards in Pure).

Change requests

This mapping and the implementation were done by a collaboration of euroCRIS, Pure users and Elsevier.
The working group worked on this initial mapping,  special thanks to everyone who contributed to this project!

Since this is a mapping used by all our customers, changes and improvements to it should be agreed upon the Pure user base.
Anna Clements was so kind act as a liason for now. In case you have a change request, please reach out to Pure Support Team
