Global Reporter RoleGlobal Reporter Role

What

We are working on introducing new roles for the Reporting module. These roles will only have access to the Reporting tab and not the Editor or Master data tabs.

How

  • With 5.18.0 we have introduced global reporter roles for all content types. These new roles grant access to the Report module, and can report on the selected content types, e.g. Global reporter of Activities.
  • This means that it is now possible to open up the Reporting module to more users without giving them access to editorial rights.
  • If the Global reporter roles are the only roles that a user has, then the user can only see the Reporting tab and use the Reporting module, without being able to see the rest of Pure, except for the below mentioned:
    • The Global reporter on UPM (Projects, Award and Applications) will have access to the Editor workspace, though in Read-only mode.
  • You can combine roles to give access to the Reporting module for more user scenarios.

Overview in table format:

Role Access to workspaces Access to new reporting module Reporting on confidential content Reporting on Sensitive data
Administrator All Yes Yes Yes
Administrator of specific content Editor, Master data, Reporting Yes Yes No
Global reporter of Projects, Awards, Applications Editor (Read-only), Reporting Yes Yes* No
Global reporter on other content Reporting Yes Yes* No

*) Vendor setting. This can be requested via Pure Support. See release notes on this

Note: According to Pure, we consider the following fields as sensitive (confidential): Gender, Date of Birth, Leave of Absence, Retirement Date.

Keep in mind that this is part of the ongoing development of the Reporting module and we are planning for more changes around Roles to enable even more finely-tuned access and usage of the Reporting module.
