How Can We Help?
Publication Category Set By Default on Research OutputsPublication Category Set By Default on Research Outputs
What
When manually creating or importing a Research output, it is automatically imported with a different Publication category, e.g. "Popular" instead of "Academic" if it was expected to be the latter.
Why
Pure defaults automatically to the Publication category listed as the first available category in the Research output type classification scheme.
This can be adjusted, so you can place "Academic" as the first value, in the classification scheme named "Types of Research output" found in Administrator > Research Output > Types.
- Select the type, e.g. Contribution to Journals,
- Press Edit, then select the subtype, like Articles
- Press Edit, then Modify available categories (Note, this is found below Peer review relations which this area also can be used to add).
- Now use the arrows to rearrange the existing categories.
Note: If you do have a lot of Research outputs that have the wrong publication category, it is possible to bulk move content from one category to another.
To bulk modify this you need to:
- Go to Editor > Research Outputs
- Use the filter Publication category in combination with the Type filter, to find all Research outputs that have this wrongly assigned (e.g. Journal article with the category Popular)
- Use bulk move this by type > select the type Journal article and you will be asked what Publication category to move them to in the next screen.
