Difference Between UUID and Pure IDDifference Between UUID and Pure ID
What
All records in Pure contains (at least) two IDs: A Pure ID and a UUID.
- The Pure ID, often known as the content ID, is always found in the top left corner
- Except for Projects, Award and Applications in Reading layout (default) where the ID is in the top right corner.
- The Pure ID is unique among all content in your specific Pure instance.
- However, identical Pure IDs can be found in different Pure instances.
- UUID stands for: Universally Unique IDentifier
- This will always be unique, so not to be found in other Pure instances.
- The UUID is found in the editor window under Display > System info
- Here you can also find the Pure ID (Internal ID)
Note: It is not possible to change these IDs manually. The IDs will only change when changing template. Read more about this in KB-460: Why are IDs overwritten when changing template?
