How Can We Help?
Missing Corresponding Author on Imported ContentMissing Corresponding Author on Imported Content
What
Note: This example is for Scopus, but would be the same logic for other sources.
You import or look at already imported content from an online source and there is no corresponding author. But it does exist in the source.
In Scopus the corresponding author is marked with an envelope:
And this is how it is shown in Pure:
This information is supposed to be a <correspondence> tag embedded in the XML that we get from the source. Some times this tag is missing and because of that no persons are set as Corresponding author.
How
You verify this by inspecting the XML to see if it is in the source.
- Open the content
- Navigate to Display > System info
- View the XML from Scopus and search for 'correspondence'
- If this is not found, that will explain the missing tagging.
<correspondence> <person> <ce:initials>C.</ce:initials> <ce:indexed-name>Poulsen C.</ce:indexed-name> <ce:surname>Poulsen</ce:surname> </person> <affiliation country="dnk"> <organization>Department of Library & Information Science</organization> <organization>New Elsevier University</organization> <city>Aalborg</city> <postal-code>9220</postal-code> <ce:source-text>Department of Library & Information Science, New Elsevier University, Aalborg 9220, Denmark</ce:source-text> <country>Denmark</country> </affiliation> </correspondence>
You can solve this issue manually.
- In the content editor window click "Edit" next to the Person that is supposed to be corresponding author.
- Add a checkmark in Corresponding author:
- Click "Update" and "Save"
