QABO Publication Import Settings: Workflow Step for Confirm/Non-Confirmed Research OutputQABO Publication Import Settings: Workflow Step for Confirm/Non-Confirmed Research Output

PLEASE NOTE: This KB pertains only to customers who have a Profile Refinement Service (PRS) subscription and get updates, on a weekly basis, from the QABO workspace.

What

The cron job 'QABO Publication Import' (Administrator > Jobs > Cron Job Scheduling) contains a setup for workflow on 'confirmed' and 'non-confirmed' research output.

Confirmed and non-confirmed research output can be defined as:

  • Confirmed: Publications that have been manually verified, i.e. have gone through the PRS process (initial PRS requests) or a manual review by the Profiling team.
  • Non-Confirmed: Publications that have been identified algorithmically, but have not yet been manually verified. Once these go through a manual review they should be updated to 'confirmed.'

Note: Manual review refers to the process where the PRS team reviews those publications that were pulled into the QABO workspace/ Pure through an algorithm. This type of review is done 3 times a year.

How should or should you not setup the workflow on these research. output when running the QABO Publication Import?
The below will go through your options:

How

There are two main settings to consider in relation to confirmed or non-confirmed research output in the QABO Publication Import job:

  • Workflow step for confirmed research output: Set the workflow step for those publications that have been manually verified. By default, these are loaded into Pure in the validated workflow step. You can choose to keep this as the default of update to another workflow step.
  • Workflow step for non-confirmed research output: Set the workflow step for publications that have been identified algorithmically, but have not yet been manually verified. By default, these are loaded into Pure in the For Validation workflow step. You can choose to keep this as the default of update to another workflow step.

There are a few notes to consider when looking at this workflow setting:

  • As of 5.9.3, Pure will no longer overwrite the workflow step if an Editor changes it manually from For validation to Validation; the QABO Publication Import Job will not overwrite this change when doing the weekly refresh.
  • It is possible to have workflow disabled on Research Outputs, even though you workflow configurations in the QABO cron job.
