External Publication ID Import JobExternal Publication ID Import Job

What

There is a job called External Publication ID Import, which can add External Publication ID's on Research output. The ID will be added under secondary sources on the Research output editor window under Display > System info.
Below you can read how the External Publication ID Import works.

How

The External Publication ID Import Job imports external IDs. The ID is added to the Research output's secondary sources list with the source name defined in the configuration and the value defined in the CSV file.

The job is found under Administrator > Jobs > Cron job scheduling > Create new Job: External Publication ID Import.

  • Set the job Configurations:
    • "Select file to process":
      • This needs to be a CSV file; it should include the external ID(s) you want to add alongside the Pure ID (See external_id.csv as an example).
    • "Select an existing source from the list":
      • In this drop down list you will see external source IDs currently being utilized within Pure to choose from.
    • "Alternative source":
      • This field can can be used to create a new external source ID if the one you need is not found in the supplied drop down (as noted in the above configuration).
Note: This new source will then be included in the drop down moving forward (please see KB-358 Additional source IDs for more information).
    • Select whether existing values should be overwritten
      • Toggle ON to override existing values.
      • Toggle OFF to not override existing values.

Note that this job is only able to create and update a new entry, e.g. a new WOS ID added or updated on the specified Research output; it cannot be used to bulk delete/remove wrongly created/updated entry.
