How Can We Help?
General usage analyticsGeneral usage analytics
Pure can be configured to collect different types of data using a few service providers. This article gives an overview of them
Usage Analytics
For our customers and users: Quantified insights can help your institution make optimal use of Pure. For example, analyzing the number of visits to pages or features can help institutions support their users by identifying areas or tasks where they succeed or struggle.
For the Pure team: Usage analytics insights will help our product developers prioritize building the features that matter most to your users and target areas that need improvement.

What service providers do we use to collect analytics?
We make use of multiple services to support collecting anonymous usage analytics. These include:
Talkback - Pure's in-product feedback mechanism which provides counts of content created, modified and deleted, as well as system-specific performance and licensing metrics.
Adobe Analytics - a commercial, cookie-based, analytics product that provides UI interaction analytics.
Pendo.io - a commercial service is used to provide guides, tooltips and much more to help the users of Pure learn the features in Pure, and to provide a general onboarding of new features we introduce in Pure
Google Analytics - a commercial, cookie-based, analytics product managed and authorised by your institution, that provides your institution with page visitor information.

What do we collect
We collect analytics information from Adobe Analytics, Talkback, and Pendo.io, as well as information from cookies and other technologies, as described below.
Talkback Analytics
Talkback works by running queries against the databases within your Pure instance. This data, which we call "usage data," provides aggregate information about groups or categories of services, features, and configurations – and importantly, does not include any personal information. For example, we analyze data to determine the most common job roles, enabled modules, the use of import sources, content type volume, or license information.
Analytics Information from Adobe Analytics
Adobe Analytics services help us understand how users interact with Pure. This information allows us to optimize their experience when finding features, performing tasks, and navigating the interface. We collect data in response to a user opening and/or interacting with a feature on a page within Pure. However, we do not capture any data about the content they see or enter into Pure.
To segment our users, we gather data about the user and their device, including: browser type, URLs of referring/exit pages, operating system, locale, language preferences, identification numbers associated with the user’s devices, mobile carrier, and system configuration information. The analytics data consists of a date and time stamp, the features and functions being used, and a fully anonymized user ID (salted hash) representing the individual using the feature or function.
None of this data is shared with third parties.
Analytics Information from Pendo.io
The Pendo.io service is used to provide users with guides, tooltips, and other support, and to help them learn about new features within Pure. We utilize this information to continuously improve the user experience when finding features, completing tasks, and navigating the interface. Like with Adobe Analytics, we collect data in response to a user opening and/or interacting with a feature on a page in Pure, and we do not capture any data about the content they see or enter into Pure.
To segment users, we collect data including: browser type. The analytics data consists of a date and time stamp, the features and functions being used, and a fully anonymized user ID (salted hash) of the individual who is using the feature or function.
None of this data is shared with third parties.
