Populate Subdivision on External Organisations Job WarningPopulate Subdivision on External Organisations Job Warning

Running the job Populate Subdivision on External Organisations Job produces warnings in the job log.
Below illustrates an example:

Content ID: 14438157
Warning
Checking scopus for subdivision on IDs: [60005460]
WARN: Could not match state (bayern) to one of these subdivisions: [hamburg, hesse, mecklenburg-vorpommern, saxony-anhalt, saarland, brandenburg, thuringia, baden-württemberg, bremen, bavaria, lower saxony, rhineland-palatinate, saxony, schleswig-holstein, berlin, north rhine-westphalia]

How

  • Running the job will fetch state/subdivision data from Scopus and attempt to populate it to the Subdivision-field on the External Organisations content type. In first example it is "nordrhein-westfalen".
  • At first a match of "nordrhein-westfalen" is attempted matched to the "Subdivision" classification scheme using the URI, so e.g. "be" would be Berlin and "hh" would be Hamburg.
  • In this case, "nordrhein-westfalen" is not coming in this format, so we fallback to trying to match the data we get from Scopus to the terms of the "Subdivision" classification scheme.
  • The problem is if the customer's Pure is in English, it has "nordrhein-westfalen" as "Lower Saxony" in the "Subdivision" classification scheme, and therefore cannot make a relation.
  • In order to fix this, it is recommended to open the "Subdivision" classification scheme and modify the English term to the German term. This way we will be able to match it on future runs of the job.

Please note that this has only been seen when attempted to match German states, but could be seen for other countries' States too.
